Fabric Flowers! March Workshop at The Fibreworks

Well, this was a great way to spend a Saturday!

I had been really looking forward to this workshop ever since I popped into the gorgeous treasure trove that is Chipping Norton's 'The Fibreworks' to arrange it with owner, Claire. Craft and textiles have always been something I have enjoyed doing, and I couldn't think of a better way to share my love of making than by trying to get together a workshop one weekend with some lovely individuals!

The workshop itself was entitled 'Fabric Flowers', where students were invited to choose various scraps of fabric that the venue had to offer, before making them into 'petals' using the different techniques I showed them. The flowers were then finished by attaching brightly coloured pom poms, vintage jewellery or buttons in the centres. The possibilities really did become endless with what you could do with them, including attaching them to headbands, hair clips or on hats themselves, or even making them into brooches, necklaces and shoe clips!

Claire at 'The Fibreworks' was so helpful and made the whole atmosphere really lovely and inviting. It was a great experience overall and the students who attended had a brilliant time as well!

Do stay tuned for more of my workshops coming up in the future; I should be set to lead another at 'The Fibreworks' later on this year where flower crowns, festival head wear and more floral fancies will be featuring!

Have a look at some of the photos below of some of our creations!
